RECOMMENDATION COPY

“Proposal for Double Nutrition to the Children infected / affected by HIV/AIDS”

Native Medicare Charitable Trust (NMCT) a Service Organization is working for 750 Children infected / affected by HIV/AIDS in Coimbatore District. We are providing support service such as Nutrition supplements, house hold supports and education supports to these children.

A section of the infected / affected children Provision of Nutrition meal

Most of these children are under ART and these children require additional nutrition since the infection does lead to several malnutrition over the long run.

Referring to ART Malnutrition – A. Challenge

There are 166 Children in the age group of 0-5 years infected / affected by HI/AIDS and covered only by single nutrition by the organization or by Donors. These children need our special care and double nutrition to cope up with the medical treatments.

In this context, we would like to refer to the Lr. No. 2052/ J3 / 2009 dt 03.04.2009 of the Govt. of Andra Pradesh wherein govt. has issued instruction to all Women and Children welfare Agencies to cover infected / affected HIV/AIDS Children with double ration in consultation with District Medical and Health officers.

We submit that issuance of Double Ration to the HIV/AIDS infected and affected children in the age group of 0-5 years will enable the parents of the infected/affected children to provide sustainable care to the children.

Hence we request that the concerned departments may be moved for issuance of suitable instructions to the women and child welfare departments to cover the infected/affected HIV/AIDS Children with double nutrition.
